July 02, 2002 / BMW Models overall winner's in Autoweek's "America's Best" survey

BMW 3 Series, M coupe and M5 voted best in their class

Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, July 2, 2002 ... The BMW 3 Series was named "Best Sedan"; the M coupe was named "Best Coupe"; and the M5 was named "Best Sports Sedan" in the Annual "America's Best" survey conducted by AutoWeek.

AutoWeek recently tabulated results of its 13th Annual Survey, conducted entirely online this year at www.autoweek.com, and BMW had three models named among the "Best". AutoWeek created the 24-question survey to allow the voters to identify their most preferred make/model for cars, trucks and SUV's. More than 7000 people responded to the "America's Best" survey entirely online, which ran from May 7th through June 6th.

"We're particularly pleased to receive these kinds of awards because they come from the readers themselves," said BMW of North America CEO Tom Purves, "the M5 and M coupe are truly outstanding cars and we're delighted that the 3 Series sedan, our most popular model, is held in such high regard by the readers of Autoweek."
