1988 735i Issue

Hey Guys,

Posting this in help of my boss. He has a 1988 735i with over 200k miles.

While driving this past weekend, his car all of a sudden just died. Restarted it, as soon as he hit the gas, died. Managed to go keep doing that all the way down to his repair shop (1 mile). Got it down there, and ofcourse, the issue didn't happen. Drove it home on monday, it was all good. Tuesday night, he leaves to get dinner, gets about 5 feet out of his garage, dies again.

I am thinking fuel pump or filter? Any ideas?

Another update...

There is fuel pressure and fuel getting to the engine. Mechanic removed the alarm and put it back on, and now the car runs... Any ideas?
