I recently purchased a 1997 2.8 Z3, I've noticed my check engine sign came on. The BMW dealership charges CAN $99 to check what the problem is. For this reason I am thinking of purchasing a diagnostic tool that also resets the check engine sign for US $150.
The only one I could find was the
Bavarian Autosport Oil Service Light Reset Tool with Engine Fault Code Reader

Does anyone recommend purchasing this Fault Code Reader to save in the long run. If so, any advise where to find more of these fault code readers.
