Loosing climate control in hot weather

1997 BMW 328is - The auto climate control works fine when the cabin temperature is cool but there is no fan or air conditioning when the cabin temp heats up to 100 degrees while the car is sitting during the day. It seems like something is expanding in the heat and losing electrical contact.

Any suggestions?

there is a control module in addition to the climate control computer that usually fails on these things. they can be found on ebay for relatively cheap. climate control in these cars suck

Yep, it was the controller. I ended up having to get it from the dealer but they gave me a credit for trade-in from the old part. But get this... they wanted $200 to change the celsius to fahrenheit! I said no way, I will deal with it.

sounds like your dealer is a true stealer, do you not have the 18 button obc?

Yeah.. I can change the outside temp to fahrenheit but not the climate control, unless you know a trick?

Yep there's that, but I hate math!
