If yours is anything like my e30, the only thing you can do for those marks is to polish the intake. That constant rubbing is starting to "polish" the part of the intake that it is rubbing.

You really won't be able to clean those marks off.

Thanks,
Now I won't have to waste my time trying to do the impossible. I'll just wipe them off using an old toothbrush and simple green and then wipe them with a damp towel. Do you know of anyplace that carries Zinnebar Red touch up paint for my 89 325i. I have a small tube with some still in from several years ago but I'm looking for a small spray can. I've found a Plasti-kote spray #5431 for Nissan that is extremely close but would like the BMW perfect match for the air dam and rear valance..

Check the auto paint stores. They should be able to match your car's color by the BMW paint code. They can load this paint into spray cans, but you may have to purchase 4 or 5 cans at once.
