I will try to locate the California water blade (I will probably have to find one on the web - local auto stores are terrible here).

Wal-Mart carries them.

The water blade wont scratch the car if you know how to use them. The car must be clean because if there is dirt you will have scratches. Read my 'lazy mans detailing guide" for more details where I also cover the topic of towels. If you choose to purchase the water blade, costco has a great price on them.
