1996 316i problems. . .

engine slightly misfires. no go at all. what could be the cause? dirty injectors? worn out spark plugs? what areas should i check first before i go to my mechanic just to be sure.

i also hear noise coming from under the car near clutch assembly when left idle . no noise if i press the clutch pedal. is it the releasing bearing that makes the noise?

The noise is the throwout bearing, ie, release bearing. You are in need of a new one and while you're in there, might as well do the clutch too.
As for the misfire, check the plugs first and then the coils, make sure you are getting fire to the plugs.
