Could be a bad connection (check that you have 12 volts at the connector plug at the seat). But typically with this age, the heating element is broken and must be replaced. Check out this link:

Note that this is the instructions for installing heated seat wiring and elements on a car that did not originally have them. You are concerned with section 5 only (halfway down). It explains how to disassemble the seat to install the heater element.


You can get the heater element at the dealer.

If the heating elements need to be replaced, It is pretty time consuming- I did mine last year and was surprised at how long it took. I have had pretty many seats apart over the years, and occasionally stitched up new upholstery, so I am somewhat experienced in seatology. If you have never done this before, it might take a half a Saturday, although it isnt really complex. If you are used to tinkering, go for it.
