I was driving and watched my speedomoter struggle to go up, and it struggled, and it struggled, and it gave up. The odometer works fine. The rear end where the sensors are has been cleaned up, eliminating any problems there (I think). I know of conditions where the nicad batteries behind the service light extraveganza could leak and create problems. Has anyone else experienced this, and is the something easy I can do to assess and figure out if it needs to be sent in for repair? Thanks.

i would check the connections and the wires in the back of the speedo and also at the diff again, it isnt uncomon for the diff sensor to get messed up, you may even need to replace it

If it was the diff sensor, the odometer wouldn't work.

Your speedo broke. Time to get it rebuilt or find a replacement.
